Day 3 Betting Preview
While predicting the outcome of the 2008 PGA Championship is beginning to look increasingly like picking the winning number in the sweepstakes, William Hill's outright winner PGA Championship betting market continues to provide excellent value.
Sergio Garcia has taken over from Phil Mickelson at the head of the outright winner betting market at odds of 13/2 and looks to be the safest each way bet in the field. However Justin Rose may also be worth a punt at 8/1, while hard driving 2nd round leader JB Holmes will pay out 11/1 for a tournament win.
The emphasis in the betting markets switches from 3 balls to 2 balls this weekend, as the remaining players at the 2008 PGA Championship are paired up according to their position on the leaderboard at the conclusion of the 2nd round.
All eyes will be on the headline 2 ball which will tee off this afternoon. JB Holmes is priced 5/6 to outscore 6/5 priced Charlie Wi in the 3rd round, with a drawn score paying out 15/2.
The 2 ball featuring Sergio Garcia and Ken Duke also promises to provide a fascinating tussle, with Garcia the 8/15 favourite to outplay Duke. Duke will pay out 15/8 if he prevails in this match-up, while a draw will pay out 15/2.
